Buyer FAQ's

How does the online store work?

Local businesses owners have placed items up for sale on an online auction site. These Items are available for the public to view HERE. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these items will go to the business owners with additional fees being covered by the Olde Town Arvada BID. To bid on an item, simply create an account. Please note that the bidding will be enabled once the auction goes live on Thursday April 23 at 5pm. All bidding ends on Sunday May 3rd at 12 pm. Click HERE to start shopping.

Do I need to create an account?

You can preview the online auction with out having an account, but you need an account in order to see all of the offerings and make a bid on items. The process for creating an account is quick, secure and easy to do.

How can I look for specific items?

You can filter the auction items you want to view. Simply go to the top left of the screen and look for "All Items". Click to expand the drop down menu and you can filter by category, unsold items, and items with no current bids.

How do I keep track of the items I am interested in?

To keep track of the items you are interested in, simply add them to your watchlist by clicking the heart icon.  To view these items, click the heart button on the auction bar (next to the search box).

What is the difference between Exact Bid and Proxy Bid?

An exact bid is the amount you want to pay for the item. Your bid will not change as additional bids are entered on the item.

A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend. The system will increase your bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item.

How does the payment work?

Once the bidding is complete, the highest bidder will receive a notification with a link to your invoice. You can then follow the link to submit your payment. Payment for your item will be due within 24 hours. Any bids that are not paid for will go back up for auction after this time frame.

How do I get my item?

The business will contact you to determine the easiest way to get your item to you. This will either be by mail, email, or by pick up or delivery when it is safe to do so. The Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District is NOT responsible for fulfilling any order.

What other ways can I help?

You can help by spreading the word about supporting local businesses through this online store to your friends, family, neighbors and business network. Share our page via Facebook, Twitter and email.
